Some advice before you go to the airport
- Please allow additional time for you and your family to get through security, particularly if you are traveling with little children. If you are going abroad, give yourself considerably more time.
- To find out the best times to check in at the airport of your departure, contact your airline or travel agency.
- Speak with your kids before you go for the airport and inform them that it is illegal to threaten someone, say, “I have a bomb in my bag.” Joking threats, especially from children, can cause delays for the whole family and even lead to fines.
- Try to reserve a bulkhead seat if you are flying with a little child so that you may use the baby carrier that is attached to the bulkhead.
Advise at the runway
- To ensure that your kids are not startled or afraid, talk to them about the screening procedure once again. Remind them not to make light of dangers like explosives or bombs.
- Inform your kids that their belongings—such as their backpacks and dolls—will be scanned by an X-ray machine, come out the other side, and be given back to them.
- Tell your kids that while a security guard might want to examine their shoes, they will also receive these back.
- In the event that you are traveling with many children, you might want to think about requesting a private screening. The best baby stroller to use while traveling with a little child is a folding one.
Advice when flying
- If the baby is small, have some gum or a pacifier. When taking off and landing, popping your ears will be lessened by chewing gum or sucking on a pacifier. Tell your youngster what air pressure is if they are old enough.
- Make sure the kids have activities and toys to play with. * Although the airline will provide a limited assortment, it is preferable to carry your own. The food on airplanes isn’t the best, so bring along some of your kids’ favorite snacks.
Juice, breast milk, baby formula, and other liquids
- Not need to be in the zip-top bag, medications, infant food and formula, breast milk, and juice are all permitted in acceptable amounts over three ounces. At the checkpoint, declare these things for examination.
- All products, including juice, formula, and breast milk, will be examined; however, neither you nor your child will be required to sample or test the juice, formula, or breast milk. Exemptions for liquids (things that weigh more than three ounces) may be tested for explosives by our security officers.
Make careful to check the TSA website prior to your flight since travel regulations are subject to change. Your journey will go much more smoothly if you and your family follow the guidelines.
